Explore a style

Find the swing lesson you meant to find.

Make the dance name, partner format and intended level part of your video search.

01

Use the complete name

Swing is a broad search term. Read the specific dance named in the description, then check whether the video introduces that dance or assumes experience in it. Similar music in two trailers does not mean the lessons teach the same vocabulary.

02

Check the learning format

Some videos focus on solo material; others explain partner figures or a routine. Look for demonstrations of both roles when relevant and a clear description of prerequisite lessons. Keep partnered practice questions for a teacher who can observe the interaction.

03

Build a clear reference

Record the dance name, instructor and chapter together. That small amount of context makes the note useful when you compare another lesson later or bring a question to a class.
